WYLD Welcome March 2021!
Dear Readers,
We want to thank you for joining us on our adventure for this March 2021 issue. During the month of February we enjoyed the fresh snowfall out in our National Forests and checked out some cool mid-state restaurants, a few fun must-experience spots, and a really cool Wyoming brewery!
When deciding our theme and focus for this month we looked at several factors, first was noting the weather and the ways we could enjoy Wyoming during the winter. Our second factor was noting that it was International Forest Day - and the US has a rich history when it comes to its national forests.
The federal forest management began back in 1876 and in 1891 Congress passed the Forest Reserve Act. In 1905 the US Forest Service was created and today continues to care for our national forests. With this in mind we wanted to recognize some of the historic and stunning national forests that call Wyoming home. The oldest and first national for was the Shoshone National Forest. The other forest we chose to include was Bighorn National Forest. For that adventure we reached out to our local readers and Wyoming Fish and Game experts.
As February was slipping by we asked you, our readers to share your adventures and you didn’t disappoint us! Several of you shared your upcoming events, must see places, and photos and stories of your winter adventures. Keep it coming! We love hearing from you. Be sure to check out our WYld Insta and our reader content this month to see what your fellow readers have been up to.
We wish you a wonderful March and encourage your to go out and explore our wonderful National Forests and other public forest lands. We bid you happy reading and leave you with a quote from Franklin D. Roosevelt:
“Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.”
