Whether you’ve been dreaming of a an epic holiday getaway or this year is finally going to be the year that you teach the kids how to pizza and French fry down the bunny hill, our mountain town surely holds your next adventure. No. 1 Ice skating at David Street Station  

When the snow falls and the streets of Downtown Casper light the city aglow, meet us at David Street Station’s ice skating rink for a glide around the community Christmas Tree. From ”Skate with Santa” on December 4th and 18th and “Glow Skate” on January 14th to a Saturday afternoon of downtown fun with the family, David Street Station is the place to be for locals and visitors alike in the winter months. 

Hours: Following the grand opening on November 26th, the ice rink will be open Thurs – Sun each week until January 17th besides Christmas break (over the break, December 20th – January 2nd, it will be open every day besides Christmas Eve and Christmas). Regular skating hours: Thurs & Fri: 5:00pm – 9:00pm & Sat & Sun: 12:00pm – 9:00pm.

Cost:

$6.00 – Adults (13 and over)
$5.00 – Youth (12 and under)
$3.00 – Toddler (4 and under)

Rental Fees: $3.00 – Ice Skate Rentals

No. 2 Night Skiing at Hogadon Basin Ski Area

Our local, beloved ski resort recently announced that they will be offering up night skiing for the first time ever this season. The slopes will be lit on Friday and Saturday evenings from 3:00pm - 8:00pm. To start Hogadon will only be opening up two runs - Boomerang and Park. Not only do we expect this to be a hit amongst local shredders and skiers, but this new experience is bound to put Hogadon on the map in the Rockies as the only other Wyoming ski resort to turn up at night is Snow King Resort in Jackson, WY. Wax up your skis, hIt the slopes and meet us back in the lodge for a cold one by the fireplace. 

Hours: Hogadon typically opens first week in December at the latest – depending on snow fall and accumulation. Stay tuned!

No. 3 Winter Outdoor Recreation on Casper Mountain

Snowshoeing, Nordic and downhill skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowmobiling, fat biking and more! No matter your winter habit, we promise Casper has just the mountain adventure for you and your family this holiday season. No gear? No problem. One of our many outdoor outfitters and rental shops is happy to set you up!

No. 4 Shop Local & Get in the Spirit

Downtown Casper is full of welcoming shops and charming boutiques sure to satisfy your holiday shopping fix. Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for that special someone or you’ve been craving an afternoon of classic window shopping for you, Downtown Casper is sure to take you there. Snag a gift for the guys at Ugly Bug Fly Shop or Lou Tauberts Ranch Outfitters, check stocking stuffers off of your list at Floral Rhino and Mustard Seed, break for a local treat at Donnell’s Candies and finish off your day with an award winning cocktail at Backwards Distilling.

No. 5 Lights in the Park at Conwell Park 

Every year, Conwell Park shines brightly as each tree in the park is adorned in Christmas lights of every color. Grab a warm beverage, head to the park as the Wyoming sun dips below the horizon and soak in the views as the kids play in the snow below the beckoning trees. On Sunday November 21st, join the community in the Holiday Square Lighting where Santa will be present, hot cocoa and free cookies will be served and the countdown to the holidays will begin!  

Hours: Holiday Square Lighting Sunday, Nov 21st 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Experience the lights every evening until December 31st.

No. 6 Casper Christmas Parade & Community Tree Lighting at David Street Station 

Tis' the season, because it's about to get festive here in the 5150'! In just a few short weeks, the holiday season will be in full swing all around Casper. On Friday, November 26th at 12:00pm David Street Station is opening up their downtown, outdoor rink for skating. Yet, the party will really get started on Saturday, November 27th with the Community Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:00pm and the Christmas Parade kicking off right after at 6:30pm. Mark your calendars, rally your hot cocoa crew and meet us downtown for the holiday weekend of the season! 

Hours: Saturday, November 26th 6:00pm  Parade starts at 6:30pm

Cost: Free!
