Searching for Sasquatch Project - Pro tips

Written By: Sarah Reish

The Searching For Sasquatch Project sort of fell into our laps when we discovered Park County, which is in the Big Horn Basin, is a hot spot for Sasquatch sightings. Wyoming has had 28 reported sightings, in recent history. Wyoming has just been ranked third in sightings. Our reconnaissance team has done extensive research and used a touch of their inherent skills to develop some best practices to increase your probability of a successful sighting of this elusive creature.

Be the ‘Squatch - Think Like a ‘Squatch

The best tip we can give those searching for Sasquatch is to think like ‘Squatch and become this creature. Our recon team said to think about how a Sasquatch behaves and then mimic the behaviors. Go where a ‘Squatch would go and hide like a ‘squatch would hide. As you become more ‘Squatch-like, you will begin to discover evidence of ‘Squatch in your surroundings and thus increase the likelihood of finding our elusive friend.

Pose No Threat

‘Squatch is reclusive and somewhat nervous. In a fight-or-flight situation our friend tends to flee. ‘Squatch is non-confrontational and should they note you are not there as a threat, they may stay where they are to observe you. Thus increasing the probability of a ‘Squatch sighting for you.

‘Squatch Loves Public Lands

Our friend, we have noted, tends to be spotted most on Public Lands. Rarely is there a sighting on private property. This means you are least likely to spot him while lounging on the couch. Our recon team advises those wanting to see a ‘Squatch that they need to get out and explore our National Parks, National Forests, State Parks, and BLM Lands. In going to locations where ‘Squatch has been sighted in the past, you will increase the chances of a successful search and sighting of a ‘Squatch.

More to Come

Our team is working tirelessly to develop more methods and guides that we can share with you, so stay tuned for more tips coming in future issues. Be sure to share your Search for Sasquatch adventures on social media and tag us @LiveWYldMag and use #LiveWYld and #SquatchInTheWYld
