Wyoming 310- Lunching & Wine

By: Katelyn Parker

The secret is out about Wyoming 310 and their amazing menu. If you are looking for a great steak dinner and live in the Bighorn Basin, chances are you’re going to Wyoming 310. Morgan and Melanie have created one of the best menus around and the fact that people will travel from counties away, is a testament to that fact. Although one of the hottest places to dine out for dinner there are two elements of Wyoming 310 that remain a sort of secret.

Lunch

Wyoming 310 is open for lunch and the only problem is the paradox of choice. Looking at the menu I was so perplexed on how to choose the right thing. It is after all only lunch, so ordering multiple menu items was not conducive to the day. I was stuck between the delicious Blackberry Peppercorn Steak Salad, the Hand Breaded Shrimp Basket or the Chicken Sandwich. Beyond the choice of choosing an entrée is the choice whether to have an appetizer. Not wanting to eat too much we passed on the appetizer, but it was not a choice made lightly. I ended up choosing the chicken sandwich and was not disappointed. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the slaw, rather than your traditional toppings, made my sandwich new and exciting. My lunch date shared my struggle when coming to a decision but ended up choosing the Bluey Burger and she was also delighted with her choice. Although her burger was delicious, it was the fries dipped in 310 sauce that really took her fancy.

The Wine Menu

Did you know the flavors in wine can accentuate the flavors in your meal? A good red can complement the flavors of your steak just as a good white can enhance the flavor of your seafood dish. Wyoming 310 makes it their mission to craft their menu with high quality ingredients and they employ the same sentiment in the crafting of their wine menu. Recently added to their menu are three varietals that are sold by the bottle.

Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon

Stags Leap is a California winery that has held a long-standing reputation as one of the finest wineries in the country. Their Cabernet Sauvignon has a rich bold flavor with a smooth finish. This full-bodied wine is fruit forward with hints of floral and spices such as black pepper.  This wine is the perfect complement to many culinary dishes, especially red meat.

Cakebread Cellars Sauvignon Blanc

At Wyoming 310, some of their star dishes are their shrimp dishes. If this is your entrée of choice the Cakebread Cellars Sauvignon Blanc is the wine that will make the best pairing. The notes of lemon grass and citrus complement the flavor of the shrimp, elevating your experience and the flavor profile of your meal.

Ca’Marcanda Promis

This Italian red blend comes from the Tuscana wine region in Italy. A perfect blend of Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese, this wine is a slightly sweeter alternative to the Cabernet before mentioned. Fruit forward with balanced tannins, leaving notes of floral and earth, this wine makes a great pairing for several different cuisine options. Because of the earth notes, the Promis pairs excellently with mushrooms and red meat.

The next time you treat yourself to a nice dinner at Wyoming 310 consider pairing your entrée with the perfect wine. We promise it will escalate your dining experience. If you are in search of a great place to dine in or carry out lunch, keep Wyoming 310 on your radar and remember to ask for a side of 310 sauce to dip your fries.
