Bill Lyons Framed Cody Stampede Prints

Sponsored By: Wyoming Buffalo Company

One of the great parts of having Lisa as a sponsor is that her store is made up of Wyoming made goods. She is always quick to share spices with us for camping, Jerkey with us for hiking and Steve’s bike trip in Yellowstone, and she always finds way to further support us by embracing our theme. This month was no different; she kept with our theme of Western Americana, not even knowing that we were highlighting Wyoming rodeos, and wanted to showcase Bill Lyons woodworking - specifically his framed Cody Stampede Posters.

Bill Lyons

Bill is a Wyoming woodworker and we have showcased his work before in our magazine. From the tiny detailing work he does in making pens, to the intricate Christmas ornaments, and finally his larger pieces like his vases and table lamps. His work is easily identifiable to his fans and my friend Cassandra even has cabinetry in her home that she and her husband contracted him to build. His skill with wood is next to none. Bill’s work embraces western design styles and we love every bit of it.

Cody Stampede Art

Each year the Cody Stampede Committee contracts an artist to design their annual poster for the week long 4th of July events that take place in Cody. The artwork is scanned and printed into posters for locals who collect them and for tourists looking for a unique souvenir. The posters are iconic. While Steve grew up here in Cody, I did not. His parents have posters framed in their home and while I grew up in the country in Iowa, my parents had a poster framed in their home - the exact same one as Steve’s parents.

Bill makes rustic frames for these specific posters. His frames feature aged and weathered wood that offers a rustic style to showcase the poster inside. They are available with several posters designs to choose from and in a variety of sizes. His pieces are each unique and one-of-a-kind, like all of his woodwork.

Head Upstairs

Upstairs neighbor to the Wyoming Buffalo Company is Queen Bee Gardens. This Wyoming honey is delectable and you can tap your own jar of honey right there in the store. Queen Bee Gardens also specializes in making chocolates made with their local honey. The truffles are delicious and all of their chocolates come in dozens of flavors. Purveyors of all that the bees produce, we want to make sure you explore their candles made with the bees wax, each one is a work of art.
