One Eyed Buffalo Brewing Co.

Written By: Sarah Reish

We toured another fantastic Wyoming brewery and we had been looking forward to this tour because we have been to One Eyed Buffalo Brewing Company quite a few times. We met with Jenny & Clyde (AKA Binky) the owners of OEB. We want to Thank Juli, owner of Libations and our amazing LW Sponsor for sponsoring and making this content possible.

The beer

We have to start with the beer! We arrived a little early, after checking into our hotel, and grabbed some beer and a snack. The OEB has ten beers on tap along with 5 guest taps most of which showcase other great Wyoming beers - we love that they support other local brewers. As avid IPA fans we selected the tried and true One Eyed Session IPA. It is an easy drinking delicious IPA that was perfect to bring along as we were touring the brewery. I also enjoy the Son of a Peach Blonde Ale the subtle fruitiness offers a beautiful balance to the ale. The Lack Creek Honey Ale is another favorite and is made with local Wyoming honey. Of course we like to mix it up and the seasonal beers when they are tapped. We want to note that OEB also gets their hops from Powell.

The brewery

Jenny took us on our tour and we passed the kitchen area where we said hello to the amazing chef and cooks and then headed to the patio. We’ll get to her stunning patio in a minute. We entered a separate building that housed the brewery. The brewery is fantastic. We visit breweries regularly and love to see how they are set up and run. The OEB brewer is Kent Shook and he runs a tight ship. The brewery was super clean with an organized system set up and even housed a dart board, which we know creative minds sometimes need to unwind. Kent works up seasonal beers and maintains their staple beers for the ten beers they keep on tap. Jenny explained, Scott Holmon still helps out at the brewery and assisted them in finding Kent. The names of the beers are kept local ie Smoking Waters Wheat is a nod to the hot springs right up the road.

Dining

The building is historic and features a fabulous tin ceiling. The large dining space and bar are perfect for guests to come in for a fantastic meal or to enjoy a cold beer. The dining room is warm and cozy giving diners the opportunity to relax and enjoy their meal. The menu includes appetizers, burgers, and main courses, it is not just bar food. The loaded nacho tots are one of our favorites to share and their burgers are amazing. There is also seafood that is a local favorite. Let us know what your favorite meal is, in the comments.

The patio

This is the newest space Jenny created and offers diners a sheltered outdoor space for relaxing and unwinding. The ambiance is one of a kind and decorated to perfection featuring stunning lighting and tables. There are also heaters so guests can enjoy the outdoors during cooler seasons. Be sure to check this space out on your next visit!

The staff

While spending the evening with Jenny we learned quickly how much she values and appreciates her staff. She shared how they stepped up, worked hard and adapted during Covid and staffing shortages many restaurants are struggling with right now. We wanted to say thank you to all the amazing serving staff who are hanging in there during this time of staffing shortages, we appreciate you! We also agree with Jenny, her staff is amazing and even while it was busy multiple members of her staff checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed, even without knowing who we were and that we would be touring their facility later in the evening.

Bonus

What could be the bonus content you ask? How about the newest addition to the OEB family? The OEB Saloon is located just up the road and features pool tables, bar menu and a liquor store. If the restaurant and brewery are full you can head over to the OEB Saloon and get the same amazing and friendly service.
