Recap

Last month, we shared with you that Wyoming is a hotspot for ‘Squatch sightings. In an effort to support the ‘Squatch community, we formed the Searching For Sasquatch Project. Our reconnaissance team has been developing strategies and best practices for you, our readers, so that you can increase your chances of sighting this mysterious creature. Below are some pro tips our recon team has developed since our last update.

‘Squatch Sign

Some of the very first things our recon team suggests doing in your search for ‘Squatch is to look around for ‘Squatch droppings, tracks, and hair while in ideal ‘Squatch habitat. How will you know when you’re in the ideal ‘Squatch habitat? Keep reading to find out!

‘Squatch Habitat

Our recon team noted in our last update that ‘Squatch loves Public Land. After more research, they have further found that ‘Squatch enjoys areas that are left natural. ‘Squatch specifically avoids any area that shows development or urbanization. This means you are least likely to see him in town or even at a developed campground. To increase your likelihood of seeing ‘Squatch, our team strategized that the most likely sightings will happen in a National Forest. Wyoming is home to over 9 million acres of wilderness that is designated, protected, and managed by the US Forest Service. This means ‘Squatch is most likely calling the protected lands home. Venturing into this area will greatly increase the likeliness of you spotting ‘Squatch. Camping in this area may even double the likelihood of a sighting.

‘Squatch Loves Other Animals

Our reconnaissance team has recently discovered that ‘Squatch loves other animals. We discovered and shared in our last update that this creature is non-threatening, and we should pose no threat. In the last month, our team observed that ‘Squatch is curious and a gentle giant that enjoys observing wildlife and other creatures. For those of you who have furry adventure buddies and/or enjoy horseback riding, this may help you in that ‘Squatch might be curious to meet your dogs, horses, mules and other furry friends. He may even stick around to observe you playing and riding and thus increases the probability of you seeing this skittish creature.

‘Squatch Vibes

Since “Squatch is a gentle creature of the forests and mountains, our recon team suggests putting off positive ‘Squatch vibes to increase your chances of a sighting! What are “positive ‘Squatch vibes” you might ask? It’s simple; always use proper outdoor etiquette. As a nature lover, ‘Squatch will be less inclined to stick around if you are littering, making excessive noise, or disrespecting local wildlife. Always practice leave no trace techniques and respect nature - just like ‘Squatch would!

Don’t Give Up

You may get disheartened when you don’t spot ‘Squatch on your first, second, or even tenth search. But, good things come to those who wait. So, have patience. Our experts have repeatedly shared that this is not for the weak of heart. You need to stay positive and keep trying. The more you are out there searching the more likely you are to see ‘Squatch.
