Wyoming’s Newest Brewery Is Set To Open!

Written By: Sarah Reish

Juli, our local spirits expert and sponsor for Live WYld Magazine is a wealth of information when it comes to Wyoming based distillers, wineries and breweries. Right up the road and a few short blocks from her store (Libations) is the location for a brand new craft brewery, Cody Craft Brewing. And just a couple of weeks ago the tanks began to fill.

We met Jenn and Brian at our very first Live WYld Christmas party a year ago and the fun began and continued throughout this last year. From watching the progress of their brewery being built to seeing them at the Yellowstone Beer Fest, barbecues and we even checked out some breweries they recommended. Now, as the final touches are going into their brewery we felt it was only right to include them in this issue.

Last week we got a text from Jenn sharing that the day had arrived, they were officially brewing beer! Lucky for us they aren’t far, just across the street from our office. We grabbed our cameras and watched the magic unfold. Their inaugural beer was being made and already had a name, The Buffalo Bilsner.

We met up with Jenn and followed Nick around the brewery as he began the work of creating their first batch up beer. It was a magical moment and we were honored to be a part of it. From seeing the science of checking sugar levels to the price measurements for his recipes, Nick was in his element. We could smell the hoppiness emanating from this first batch of beer.

We chatted with Jenn and got some more details about the grand opening, there are still some final touches being made in the breweries bar area. Upon opening there will be four beers on tap, followed by four more until all 12 of their taps are filled. This is a true brewery and will not be serving food; however, guests are able to order in food and Jenn and Brian will also create a schedule of food trucks that will be on site.

If you want to be one of the first to try their beer and check out their brewery then keep an eye on their website and social media channels for details on the grand opening. If you make it to the brewery be sure to share it on social media and tag us @LiveWYldMag and use #LiveWYld
